Star's wife shares exciting update following emotional pregnancy announcement
Their pregnancy announcement touched the hearts of many around the world, as they shared their amazing news along with an insight into their fertility struggles, and this weekend this star couple have shared a lovely update.
Lady Antebellum singer Charles Kelley and wife Cassie McConnell have announced that they are expecting a son.
Appearing on Good Morning America to discuss her difficult path to pregnancy, Cassie said: “I’m due in February and we just found out that we’re having a boy.”
In her emotionally-charged post announcing her pregnancy, back in July, Cassie revealed that she and Charlie were trying for a child for the majority of their six-year marriage. They were devastated when doctors informed them that they had a 1% chance of conceiving naturally but, incredibly, they got the news they so hoped for in May.
Reflecting on her path to pregnancy with her first child, Cassie said: “I get choked up just thinking about it. We’re thankful – blessed isn’t a strong enough word. We were up against some incredible odds, and it still happened.”
“My body doesn’t ovulate regularly, which is problem number one. I also had a blockage in my fallopian tube, which also happened to be connected to my dominant ovary,” she went on to explain.
Musician Charles took to Twitter following Cassie’s interview, to thank his fans and followers for their well wishes.
“Thanks for all the congrats on our news about having a boy. Can’t wait to teach him how to play golf, haha,” he wrote.
