10 adorable things to do before your big kid goes to bed

mother tucking child into bedA lot of primary school kids still have trouble going to bed. Most of the time, they are afraid of the dark while others,  feel like they’ll missing out if they go to sleep.

Here are 10 sweet things you can do before your little one hits the hay:

1. Kiss your little one on the forehead
Sometimes, the small gestures mean a lot more than the big ones.

2. Read them a bedtime story
It’s always a good way to help your child relax and naturally have the urge to fall asleep.

3. Make up a story
Some families have their own stories that they like to tell before bed. If you don’t have one, why not start your own tradition?

4. Ask them about their day
This shows your child that you care about them and you’re interested in knowing what they get up to.

5. Say a prayer
Some families like to say a little prayer before they go to bed. This can teach children about gratitude and how to be thankful for the small things in life.

6. Praise them
Always let your child know when you’re proud of them. This will help them with their self-confidence.

7. Look at the stars
If it’s too cold out, you can gaze from the window. Count the stars together with your little one before you tuck them in.

8. Make a wish
Give your child a coin to make a wish for someone else. Put the coin in a jar and once the jar is full you can both go and donate it to charity.

9 Apologise
If you need to apologise for something you did, make sure you do it before bed. It’s always good to clear the air before snoozing off.

10. Tell them you love them
Hearing those three words before going off to La La Land, can help your little one have a peaceful sleep.
